We will be back once again at the stunning Elmley Nature Reserve in 2020. This year the theme will be around food. How we can eat well, how we can cook well, how food can benefit our bodies - expect cooking over fires, forgaed goodies (from around Kent) and much more.

This weekend is your chance to restore, revive and connect back to yourself and the nature around you.

You will leave feeling inspired and with an overwhelming sense of calm.

One night prices from £350, two nights from £550. You can secure your place today with a £250 deposit.

Retreat schedule

Once we have revelled in the joy of our To The Sea retreat, we will confirm the schedule properly, but it will look pretty much like the following:

15th May:

Arrival day. Make your way to the reserve from 3pm. We’ll check you in and settle you in to your tent or hut.

As dusk approaches we will gather around the fire for our welcome ceremony. We’ll introduce ourselves and share our hopes for the retreat. After that, you will enjoy a delicious supper of local vegetarian food under the stars, before tucking into your beds, steeped in nature.

16th May:

Wake up to wilderness before our morning yoga session, led by our own yoga teacher, Kim Hill. This will be a very relaxed session and no experience is necessary. Stretch and give yourself the time to reconnect.

A delicious breakfast will follow before we set off on our sea shore safari led by Elmley owner, Gareth Fulton. Gareth is a keen conservationist and will show you around the reserve before taking you down to the sea shore where you will learn all about Elmley’s seascape.

Lunch will be about soaking up the natural setting at your own pace.  With a beautiful individual picnic you will be able to wander, pick your own spot and eat in the splendour that is Elmley Nature Reserve.

In the afternoon you will then settle in for a foodie themed workshop, which we will confirm shortly. Expect something pretty special.

At dusk we will gather for our meditation session inspired by nature. This is your time to return to yourself. Meditation is an incredibly powerful tool in our fast paced world, we often wish for more time and for it all to slow down a little and meditation can help you achieve this. Again, no experience is necessary.

Come the evening, if the weather is on our side we will feast under the stars in Elmley’s gorgeous Linhay, it will be an evening to remember with incredible food and wine, perhaps cooked over a fire pit? We hope so.

17th May:

Wake up and stretch with our morning yoga, a deliberately slow class, Kim will guide you through postures, before a long deep relaxation. Kim will be reconnect the mind with the body and give you space to just be.

After breakfast we will enjoy another food related workshop and then you will have some free time on the reserve. This time is really important, it’s time to just be, soak it all up. You can write, journal, read, draw or just wander. It’s your time, such a gift in this fast paced world.

We will feed you a delicious final lunch before coming together to close the retreat.

You will return home with an overwhelming sense of calm.

Treatments

During your stay, treatments will be available with Elmley’s resident therapist, Roz Miles. Roz is incredibly intuitive and her sessions will leave you with a huge sense of calm. Kim Hill

Kim has been practising yoga for over ten years now and trained back in 2012. Kim will be leading all of the yoga and meditation sessions and she’ll also be using her skills as an events organiser to bring the retreat together. Kim is passionate about helping you reach a state of flow. A state when things just happen without any resistance. Her classes are slow, soothing and grounding and no experience is necessary.

Kim lives by the sea with her two small people and husband, Richard. She grew up in Kent and returned a couple of years ago when city living became too much, she describes that experience as like wiping your sunglasses clean! Kim rides horses regularly and hangs out with her family.

Hannah Bullivant

Stylist and blogger, Hannah believes in a wilder, slower more joyful way of life. Hannah is incredibly talented and one of the most creative people we know. She will be leading our creative workshops and inspiring us to make with our hands.

Georgina and Gareth Fulton

This husband and wife team have created the most incredible place at Elmley Nature reserve and we can’t wait to share it with you. They are both very passionate about nature, Elmley’s conservation story is incredibly inspiring. They live locally in Kent with their two kids and Polly the dog.
